A while back, we talked of the benefits of using a reusable grocery bag. I have used a lot of reusable bags from several stores but one stands out above all others. For strength, size, and beneficial shape, Whole Foods’ reusable bags, made of plastic and 100% recyclable are the most usable. Previously, Trader Joe’s was my favorite but now I’ve converted to Whole Foods’ bags.
No matter where you’re shopping, these bags are almost usually a dollar or less and save trees from being used for paper bags and plastic from being turned into bags that are often tossed to the wind. Also, Whole Foods credits you $0.10 for each bag you use each time you use it, meaning you make the money back over time.

Buying reusable bags is only the first step to a cleaner world. You also have to remember to reuse them. Here are some tips to help you remember to bring your reusable bags to the store.
1) Put the bags back in your car as soon as you finish putting away the groceries.
2) Stash them in the car’s front seat so you see them.
3) Write “reusable bags” at the top of your grocery list.

Yeah, they’re definitely great! Even if you don’t make the money back (though it is a plus, for sure!) it’s worth it just to know that you’re not contributing to landfill clutter any more than you have to, right?
