Be sure to keep baking soda on the shelf at all times! Why? Beside the fact that it is an ingredient in many recipes, it is an environmentally-safe, healthy alternative with many functions.
Here are a four basic tasks for which you can use baking soda:
- Use it in place of Comet or Ajax, which are more harsh. I have used in on my sinks and bathtub with great results! It’s mildly abrasive and with a little elbow grease, it can usually get the job done.
- Use it with vinegar to unclog your drains! Matthew Phillip wrote about this a while back, and it is one of our most read articles! Check out his story to see how it’s done!
- Stifle smelly garbage with a sprinkle of baking soda! So your garbage is not even half full, but something is stinking up the place! Don’t reach for your aerosol can of “air freshener.” It contains harmful elements! Baking soda will help to keep those smells away. Also, sprinkle a little into your garbage can itself, before placing a bag inside.
- Add a little to your washing machine to help your natural laundry detergent do its job!
By choosing baking soda, you are choosing a more environmentally-safe, health-safe alternative to harsher methods of daily tasks! Plus, it’s cheaper! Buy the larger box and never catch yourself without this very usefeul product!
